Last night was a nightmare for the Mets. They fell into an early 9-0 hole and never clawed back.
Steven Matz only went 1+ innings and gave up seven runs. The Mets offense tried to make an attempt but their momentum was stopped by more Rockies offense and poor Mets pitching. The Mets had a chance to make it a 5.5 game deficit for the second wild card but alas, it is now 7.5.
